    Welding procedures

At SCI we perform the homologation of welding procedures and qualification of welders according to the standards required by the customer (Eurocodes, ASME IX, AWS and API).

The activities we carry out are detailed below:

    • Review and confirmation of mandatory tests per standard/code and additional tests required by customer specifications.
    • Performance of non-destructive tests (visual, X-ray, ultrasonic, liquid penetrant, etc.)
    • Mechanical testing (tensile, bending, fracture, impact, hardness, etc.)
    • Preparation of applicable documentation: Procedure Logs (PQR/WPQR), Welding Procedures (WPS) and Welder and Operator Qualification (WPQ).

SCI as an inspection agency accredited by ENAC and recognized as a Notified Body (Number 1438) has the ability to perform tests (both NDT and destructive within the scope) under such accreditation and issue approval documentation as ON.

    OBJECTIVE OF WELDING PROCEDURE QUALIFICATION

The objective in qualifying a welding procedure is to ensure that the materials and parameters are correct to produce quality welds that ensure adequate mechanical strength.

    OBJECTIVE OF WELDER QUALIFICATION
